Delete Your Account
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Jila account (app io.jila.app) and the data associated with it. You can do this yourself inside the app, or request it by email.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Jila app and make sure you are signed in.
- On the main recordings screen, tap the person / Account icon in the top toolbar to open the Account sheet.
- Tap Delete account ("Erase your account and all recordings").
- In the Delete account? dialog, tap Delete to confirm. Your account, recordings, and transcripts are then permanently erased.
Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email hello@jila.io from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete your account. We will verify the request and delete your data.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account and profile information (name, email, profile picture, and your "About me" details).
- All recordings, transcripts, summaries, and mindmaps stored on our backend and tied to your account.
- Any AI-assistant connector (MCP) links you generated, which immediately stops any connected assistant from accessing your data.
What is kept, and for how long
When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems immediately. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days. We retain no recordings, transcripts, or profile data beyond this period.
We may retain a minimal, non-identifying record of a transaction (for example, a purchase receipt) only where required to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations. This record cannot be used to reconstruct your recordings or profile.
